Hello

My name is Barry from Bowmanville,Ontario,Canada,my Mom and I have a almost 4 month old Shih Tzu named Heidi, got her October 10th.We just had tot put down our Bichon Frise Fritz on September 29th due to Diabetes and Kidney Failure he was only 8 years old, took it rather hard,Mom said no more dogs but I think we both missed him and she relented and we got Heidi. We had a tough first night with her, kept us up crying and not sleeping ,after that night it got better, she cam go all night without a bathroom mishap. She has having an awful time biting and nipping, teething,we put Tabasco sauce on slippers and socks, she doesn't like the taste of it.She still has mishaps in the house,is better down in our rec room,we have a plastic lattice fence down her as you come inot the rec room, she goes to that to want out, hasn't learned the same thing upstairs yet.She has a few naps during the day, having one now, snores a lot plays with stuffy toys and has blitzes around the rec room. She has her trip to the groomer on Wednesday so will see how that goes.Glad to be here, hope you will like Heidi.Picture of Heidi after we got home on October 10th.

Congratulations !!!

Puppy stage is the hardest stage for all. I recomend you buy an apple sour spray instead of tabasco. That way her tummy won't get irritated. It might help if you put her crate next to your bed at night time, they hate being left alone. Good luck on the training

Hi,

Me and my boyfriend are new parents to a 8 week old Bichon Frise called Betsy. Were finding it a bit of a struggle at the moment keeping her from crying.

Just like to say your dog Heidi is so cute

Awww, Heidi is precious!
When she nips, try yelping in a high-pitched tone- this works because it's what her siblings did to tell her she was hurting them- and leaving the room for a few minutes. It may take her a while to understand the correlation between the two, but she will. :3
