Hi to all. I prefer "actual" over "virtual", so I don't spend much time online. I'd rather spend my free time with my dogs. But I'm looking to connect with others who love dogs and this seems like a good idea.
Born with severe allergies, so no pets as a kid. Well, fish, but they aren't too affectionate, hard to snuggle with. Enter a Siberian husky puppy nine years ago. I fell as hard, head over heels, hopelessly in love with Nessa. Image a little grey fox-like bundle of chained blue lightning. Lots of itching, sneezing and coughing the first year. Had to wear long sleeves, gloves etc. when I touched her, went to the allergy Dr., shots, pills, inhalers etc. None of that stuff mattered, I never had a second thought, we too were made for each other. Period. I deserve ZERO credit for going thru all the allergy stuff, I literally had no choice. It was out of my control, stick a fork in me, it was done.
No doubt in the universe that I am a wiser, richer, healthier, happier and just plain BETTER person from the dogs in my life. I did crazy stuff. For example, since there were no Siberian husky rescues in Montana, I damn well opened one. Nessa was joined by Tucker, Tika and Katie, all rescue dogs. I had a chance to help rescue dozens of amazing dogs. The survived, thrived and found homes, because of Nessa.
I never understood "dog people" before Nessa. Finding and experiencing love from and for dogs was like seeing a new color. I didn't realize what was missing, until I found it.
