Greetings from the UK

Hi, greetings from Yorkshire, UK.

We've got 3 dogs - all fellhounds. One doghound and two bitches. I found this forum seeking help as my youngest bitch has a swelling on her neck and I am wondering if anyone has come across this before. Please see my post in the dog health section.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Hopefully you'll get some good advice in the health section, but be sure to visit your vet too, just in case!

Yes, I think its a haematoma as I expected but if it hasn't gone down by Monday I will see the vet. There's not a lot I haven't come across over the years but this is one of them.

Never heard of a fellhound.... is this another new vocab word?

I love learning words from our friends on the other side of the Atlantic.
One of my favorite expressions, picked up from you guys is "Oh dear!" I use it all the time... learned it here on DF.

No, a fellhound is a specific recognised working hound breed - like a lightly built foxhound. Originally bred to work the Cumbrian fells and mountains.

"Oh Dear" came into its current ironic understatement of surprise/disappointment use as a catchphrase, from Monty Python, Spitting Image (a political satire TV series with latex puppets) and Blackadder (A TV period sitcom).

Welcome to the forum. I was wondering what a fellhound was myself. The pic you posted is adorable.
