Eva

Hi, I am new to this, not quite sure what to expect but here goes! My husband and I just reduced our sweet Eva, she is a mutt, not sure what she is to be honest! I think she has a little pit bull in her but not sure what else. She is 5 years old and is really well
Behaved. I do have a question for you all. Eva came from a foster home with lots of dogs and she did great, I want to take her to a dog park however when we go on walks she barks at other dogs. I'm confused because she lived with dogs, and I don't know why she would be barking. I want to take her
To the dog park but I am nervous. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hello and welcome! . I'm new here myself. I'm definitely no expert, but I'm maybe guessing that she doesn't know the dogs she is barking at, and she did know the ones in her foster home. Plus, the places where you take her walks is 'free ground', and she wants to make it hers. I would maybe try a harness and a shorter leash if you take her to a dog park. . See how she reacts to the other dogs, and if she seems ok, then let her off-leash. You can always try it, and it you feel uncomfortable, just leave the dog park. . Just my suggestions!

P.S. This link might help with worrying about dog parks as well: https://www.dogforum.com/general-dog-...safety-108009/

I'm not the most knowledgeable on this subject but it sounds like Eva may have barrier frustration. Here is a link to a sticky which will provide some more info and solutions: https://www.dogforum.com/training-beh...tration-12538/.

For now, I would hold off on a dog park until you know for sure how she is around other dogs just to be on the safe side!

She's not used to it yet and have not known those other dogs.
