Cool Dog acting funny after grooming

Hello, I recently adopted a 9 month old male shih tzu from a friend of mine. He is a handfull but I love him. I recently got him groomed at Petsmart (which I never will again) the first few days he acted like he did not want to do anything but sit. I looked at his backside and did not see any cuts or redness. Monday he started back running around the house and even went on a walk and went pee and poop. BUT when it is time to go outside he will cry and does not want to go, I have to put him on a leash and walk him around the backyard and wait for him to go pee. I am just wondering if something is really wrong or if he was cut to short and doesnt like the air back there or was he chaffed or something. Has anyone else had this problem? I am hesitant to bring him to the vet but will do if he is not better after today. Thanks for any feedback.

It could just be that he wasn't ready to see a groomer and is shut down. He's new to your family, and then you do this weird thing and send him off where they torture him with loud noises and now he feels a little funny.

Take things slower on him, where you can. He sounds stressed and needs time to adjust.
