Do I have a Great Dane Pit Bull mix?

I recently adopted a Great Dane Pit Bull mix puppy. I was told that his mother is a small fawn pit bull and his father is a Great Dane, however my friend came over my house today for a visit and said that she thinks he is a German Shepard mix with possibly a boxer. What do you think he is? Any help would be great. Thank you.

I'm not good at guessing breeds, but if cute was a breed that would be your dog!! . I'm sure someone will come along soon with some suggestions, but whatever he is, he is totally gorgeous!!

Oh my is he ever cute! It is so hard to say when they are at such a young age. Changes can be huge as they grow.
Where did you get him from? I guess for the time being I would go with what you have been told initially and see if he grows to look similar to the breeds guessed.

Thank you Judy and Timber, he is such a sweetheart.
Timber, I got him from a lady that was giving her puppies to an animal rescue that I volunteer for.
Amaryllis, I was told that he is 7 weeks.

I guess if the person who had the puppies was the one to surrender them, the mix said/guessed would be most accurate for the time being. I don't really see GSD, but then again, your little puppy is so young still.

I don't see GSD either, and unless the perspective in the picture is funny, he seems small for dane mix.

People giving away puppies at under 8 weeks are unreliable at best when it comes to the provenance of the puppies. Also, a lot of people don't know one litter can have multiple fathers, so they may be right that some of the litter is a particular mix, and not realize that other puppies in the litter are a different mix.
