Can anyone tell me what kind of dog she is?!

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on here and wanted to kind of introduce myself and ask what everyone thinks on what kind of dog this is? Currently my family and I have an Australian Shepard mix but we were very interested in adopting this puppy and adding her to our new home.

We live in NY, USA.

Thank you,

I thought lab mix as well, but I'm no expert and guessing dog breed from sight can be difficult.

Looks like your standard labxpit to me, too. It's a nice mix, really, people friendly, playful, biddable, a lot of good things in there.

Have to agree lab/pit.

Welcome to Dog Forum. If you do adopt, lease post pictures and show us his progress. Good luck.

Do you guys think that it will turn out mean since I do not know its past? That's the only thing I am afraid of. She is about 10 months old too. She is very shy but seemed ready friendly and loving once with my family after a few minutes of us being there visiting her. I have neighbors with 2 golden retrievers and I want her to be able to play with other dogs and go swimming with them and me since I live on a lake.

Thanks everyone!

If you want a dog that is guaranteed dog friendly, your best bet is an adult rescue. Most puppies are dog friendly, but that can change as they reach maturity, usually between 1.5 and 2 years. Having a dog friendly dog this time around was paramount to me, so I went with an adult.

That being said, dogs don't need dog friends. They need loving, involved owners. The dog you described seems like a great dog, whether she grows up to like her neighbors or not.

Alright thank you. And ya she seemed like a very nice friendly dog. I just am worried about the pit bull side if it's even in her. It's hard to tell since I am adopting and don't know the parents.

I know Retriever can be very scary, but you don't have to be scared of the Labrador in her. while Pitbuls are also very active, most pits I know are very people oriented and are great with all kind of animals, they know. If she's more of the Pit-side she's a great family dog, for sure.

(I don't have anything against Retrievers...I'm against breed discrimination...but some labs i met really don't belong in Families with children...other do.)

She is coming over tomorrow night to meet my dog and my cat if the cat is out lol so we'll see how she does. But I hope she turns out to be a great family dog who loves the water!
