‘Do Not Adopt a Pit Bull’ Super Bowl Commercial Pays Off!

Atty Ken Phillips claimed he'd be posting a "Do Not Adopt a Pitbull!" commercial during the Super-bowl.
He lied, of course - it's insanely expensive to buy commercial time during the annual football clash of the titans, & while he earns puh-lenty representing "dog bite victims", he's not Tesla, GM, or Conoco-Phillips - he's a private individual [one that i suspect has stashed considerable funds in offshore untraceable tax-free accounts. ].

Like Aryan Nation in the USA or "Identity Europa", he was 'triggering' - provoking a response from his opposition.

The copy on the page cited above is so chock-full of wildly-erroneous statements, i wouldn't know where to start.
Which particular flagrantly-provocative & flat-out wrong "factoid" is Ur favorite?... there are so many to choose from!

Tried to read it, but couldnt contain my fury long enough to make it to the end.

I dont own a pit and probably never will. Why? Because we move almost every year and I cant guarantee we will never have to move into housing where they arent allowed; I dont adopt pets that I cant commit to for a lifetime.

But I love this breed and the ignorance and outright LIES involved in this are absolutely appalling.

I was reading the article and got to the quotes of why he doesn't like pits and saw this [added below] as ONE of his responses. If that is what he truly thinks is a problem, then by saying don't adopt them, he is working backwards. Also using the same quote, you can respond to his "most dog attacks are from pitbulls" (paraphrased) comment. While I'm not sure if that's true, I wouldn't be surprised due to the fact that pits are so abundant. While there may be "a lot" of pit attacks, it is still a minimal percentage of the pit population.

"Every year one-quarter to one-third of the entire pit bull population of the USA has to be euthanized because their owners can't sell them, can't give them away, and therefore bring them to our public animal shelters, which have been overwhelmed by pit bulls for years."

Talking Hmm. // He can't add or multiply, either, evidently.

.

His math doesn't add up. Somehow, i'm not surprised.

If 25 to 33% of the entire pitbull-popn was euthed in shelters every year, that would be over 5-million PITBULLS alone, as a breed or mix, in the death-count for shelters.

Since the national total - all breeds & mixes of dogs, plus all cats - is "only" 3 to 5-M, annually, his "1/4 to 1/3 of all pitbulls" is impossible.

He invests so much hype into making pitbulls into demons, when in fact we KNOW - thanks to that barsteward Vicks, & his millions of dollars! - that even dogs who've been fought can not only be rehabilitated, but many ex-fighters can be placed in pet-homes.
If it hadn't been for Vick's deep pockets, we could never have proven that, definitively. As it is, it's undeniable.
Pitbulls are not "born evil", & even pitties who've been abused, neglected, & have been fought, can recover.

If Vick's ex-dogs can go on to normal lives in pet-homes, & work as literacy dogs, pet-therapy dogs, & in other public settings, then claims that every pitbull is a future monster are utter hogwash.

I was furious with the Michigan SPCA's flat policy of euthanizing every pitbull they confiscated, including neonate pups, on the presumption that "blood will tell" & every pitbull from a possible-fighting case was a potential killer.
It was outrageous & unjustifiable - & Vick's former-fighters proved it was false, once & forever.
