People post so many threads about this. I learned with my current dog, no matter what they look like, you really have no idea what they truly are unless you spend the money and get a DNA test. So all the guesses in the world, even from a vet, won't tell you anything accurate.
My dog looks like a lab. People insist he's a lab. He doesn't really act like a lab but more like a gsd. A few people can see some gsd traits in his size and conformation. The shelter listed him as a lab gsd mix. But most people see lab and some insist they see pitbull. I don't see any pitbull in his personality or build. My last dog was half pitbull. Completely different. Everyone insists he's a lab.
DNA testing says only 12.5 percent lab and 12.5 percent pitbull. Not much of what the world sees. 25 percent gsd. 25 percent boxer and 25 percent Chow Chow. Surprise! He looks nothing like a boxer or Chow Chow.
So what they look like isn't at all what they actually can be. Do the DNA testing or be happy wondering. Just my opinion of course.
