Socializing Holly

What else could I be doing?

She almost 8 weeks old, so far she has been on about three car trips, been brought to a park where she met other dogs but wasn't aloud to interact with them. Also met my neighbours dog but she wasn't aloud interact with him either (he would attack her). She interacts regulary with my dog. Been walked a couple of times down the road and been brought into my neighbours house twice.

Met lot's of different types of people. A couple of women and men (family, neighbours and all the people who stop to admire her when out in public). Met lot's of kids and loves them! She loves people period actually. Has met animals such as cats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, donkeys. She also is used to living in a very busy household with eight people and before that 6 people.

What other things should I be introducing her to? Have I been doing enough so far?

Sorry I ask so many questions lol I just really want to get this right!

sounds like she's been very busy for an 8 week old! i think that her level of socialization is really good so far. if you know anyone with dogs that are utd w shots that she actually could interact with? that is the only thing i would try to add in for now. there is a list posted somewhere of things your dog should be exposed to like wheelchairs, walkers, and oxygen tanks...i'll see if i can find it for you.

i caution you though about taking her to too many places....are parvo and distemper things that you have trouble with there? if so, it is important that you wait until she has been vaccinated for things like this before you take her to places that are frequented by other dogs.....

Yeah she has been vaccinated by her previous owner
She just has to go for boosters at eight weeks (Sunday). Hopefully I'll be able to get her interacting with dogs, I'm scared incase they attack her. My neighbours terrier attacks puppies.

my understanding of vaccinations is that they do 3 the first 2 are what actually builds the immunity and the third is sort of for just in case(i'm fully prepared that i am incorrect about this)...just the first round is not enough and the puppy hasn't built the immunity yet. you should talk to your vet about this when you take her in for the booster......

Oh ok thanks well she won't be around parvo dogs anytime soon (I love in a rural area and know all the dogs by name lol) and there are no strays. We will be getting her in sometime next week for her injections anyways
