Second puppy a cure for loneliness?

Hi everyone, my 14 week old beagle puppy cries constantly when left alone or when she’s put in her crate. My girlfriend and I have tried everything we can think of to help keep her calm but haven’t been successful. We’ve tried covering her crate, playing music, playing television shows, pheromone products and have tried giving her treats in the very rare and brief occurrences of when she is quiet in the crate. We think the problem is isolation anxiety, as opposed to separation because she doesn’t freak out if WE leave, only when she’s alone, or confined. We now have a babysitter come every day to watch our puppy while we’re at work but this is a very costly solution. When we researched the breed we saw that many people suggested a second dog for beagles and now we’re beginning to see why. But the question we have is, will a second dog really help? If anyone could give us some insight I, my girlfriend, and our neighbours will thank you.

If your pup is that young I would not recommend getting a second. Training a pup is hard enough, with two unless you have done it before can be a massive headache, when the dog is older then sure, but that won't stop it crying in the crate, my pup Dexter sometimes still has a fit when he's in the crate even if he sees the other dogs.
I'm no expert on crate training so I'll leave someone else to give you tips on that.
