In search of training tips for over excited dog on leash

Hi all. I have a 2 year old pitmix - Luna - who we adopted around 8 months ago. She is generally great and loves almost all people and other dogs. The issue is that she loves to play with other dogs and gets VERY (too) excited when we see other dogs as we pass by or if they're on the other side of the street. Over excitement includes pulling, lunging, and barking. It is not aggressive at all, she just loves to play and wrestle. I am looking in to getting a gentle leader for her but then read that it could be dangerous if the dog lounges so I need some advice.

Luna also pulls a pretty great deal while on the leash in general. She will stop and look back at me when I call her and give her a treat but then she continues to pull.

Would love any advise!

Research reactive dogs as a starting point......also keep in mind that every time you allow your dog to meet and greet people or dogs when this happens it is reinforcing the behavior, not helping it go away.
