Need Suggestions to Keep Dogs Quiet While Outdoors at Night

First, let me say that all three of my dogs are INSIDE dogs. I would not have them if I was going to relegate them to living outside.

We are going on a one week vacation next week and have been unable to find anyone to stay at the house with our pups. Thankfully, I do have someone that will be able to come over twice a day to feed and play with them for a while. We have a doggie door so they can go in and out as needed to use the bathroom, etc. Unfortunately, since bringing in our golden retriever (she is now 2 years old), the dogs have taken to barking incessantly when they go out at night if we are not here. Therefore, we have blocked the doggie door and have been letting them in and out as needed. We will be un-blocking the
door while we are gone but, obviously, won't be able to monitor their behavior. Are there any suggestions on how we may be able to deter their barking without using shock collars? I REALLY don't want to do that to my pups! Are there any ultrasonic bark control devices that can go on a collar? If so, are they any good? Is there an ultrasonic device that can cover my entire yard? Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael Brent Pendrak

You need to find out why they're barking. This may be a matter of a smartcam, it can see & record at night, or pretending to go out at night whilst actually peeking on whats going on out there, pref without them seeing you. Once you know what they're barking at, then you have a real idea how to treat this issue & wether you can eliminate the cause or not.

I would board them instead (probably too late now to get the kennel cough vaccines though). I would never let my dogs outside when I'm not home, personally, and I can't imagine that you will find a way to stop the behavior in less than a week.

I realize that it's not helpful... but I'm going on vacations next month and I've been looking for options to take care of my pets for two months already (check rover.com for sitters too, I found mine there).
