need help, puppy eats his own!

Our puppy who was 8 weeks old when we collected him has from that day eaten his own poo , the second he starts to go toilet, he turns on to his waste and eats it if he cannot reach the second he finishes he eats it, We always call him, tell him good boy and get him to run to us and give a treat when e see him go toilet, we've brought tablets they haven't worked after 3weeks and ive tried fresh pineapple for a few days still no different, he will sneak off to be able to eat it on the sly.
Were also got issues getting him from using the toilet pads to go outside when the door has been left open, he will even go back to his pad from being in the garden to use it. We tried removing it and he just went toilet, where the pad had been Weve, had a puppy before and never had these issues .. he was also a Shih Tzu, who we had for 16yrs who was golden.
please help im going out my mind

Yuk! Never heard of this before. I would put something horrible on it before he has a chance to eat it. Something like pepper, mustard powder, I don't know, anything that smells and tastes bad. If it puts him off for a while he might just give up.
