Need Help on getting a puppy

Hello all, please donít be harsh. I am looking for a small or xs breed puppy but not sure which breed to get. I was wondering if there are any that donít bark ďas much.Ē I know small breeds tend to bark a lot and I have annoying Whiny neighbors. I can tolerate barking but Iím just sick of them complaining on the noise (I have one neighbor that is very nice with a medium sized dog) and the rest of the neighbors always call the cops saying her dog is a nuisance which I donít believe is true. I just donít want to deal with cops coming around ...I might just end up snapping at my neighbors XD

Training can do wonders with puppies/ dogs that bark. But there are also a few dog breeds that are supposed to bark less. You might want to take a look at the Shih Tzu or the French Bulldog. If you don't mind the size, Bernese mountain dogs and Newfoundlands are said to not bark too much

None of my dogs have been obnoxious Barkers, they only barked if there was danger to warn me about. I've only had large mixed breed dogs who were fine in city apartments. I just make sure to exercise them regularly. Little dogs have a lot of energy and need exercise too, they seem more nervous and hyper than many large dogs I see in the dog parks.
One good way to tell if an individual dog is a Barker or not is go to the shelter. When a new person comes in the high excitement of the already stressful environment will set off all kinds of barking. The dogs that don't bark then are probably going to be pretty quiet.
My last and present dog didn't make a sound in the shelter and neither were or are big barkers. Akitas are pretty quiet and rarely bark.
