@yoshiposhi We haven't started yet. The trainer said to email her after the holidays and so I did a week after New Years to let her know I was still interested and she said she was still away and wasn't going to start training again for two more weeks. So hopefully we'll start by February!

We're doing private lessons because Delilah's pretty anxious and reactive and I was also concerned about the one on one attention she'd get in a group environment (it was a similar situation when we did agility classes and I think waiting (er... screaming) in a crate just contributed to her stress in the class). But we're very excited. I'm sorry you haven't had a great experience so far- maybe you could look into private lessons too? Ours don't cost much more than classes- $35 for half an hour. I think we may do every other week though. Not sure yet. I'll ask the trainer what she thinks would be best.

@rotten That is very, very cool! I love working dogs. I want to handle explosives detection canines for the TSA here in the US. I'm just doing basic security screening for them right now but hopefully I'll be promoted to dog handler in the next few years (it's a pretty competitive position). A truffle hunting dog sounds pretty lucrative :P
