I would play with her for 2 hours but nothing interests her! I have at least 20 toys and act all excited around them, giving her a chance to play with them. Nope, she doesn't care about ONE.
Though she likes to play by herself. She'll run around with the pull toy in her mouth.
I was foolish early this morning and tied her wit her leash to the x-pen. Dangerously, she flew herself at the xpen side, and then climbed over the pen with her leash on. She almost hung herself. I quickly ran down and unbuckled the leash.
Luckily she is save. I was thinking that I could get a roof made out of the same wire as the x-pen. She obviously can't get out of her crate because it has a roof.
that is about 80 min of interaction per day, what is happening during the other 1360 minutes of her day? i'm sure she is spending some time sleeping, she's just a baby, and eating, what else is going on for her?
as far as the toys, start with just one or two, i had to teach my dog to play with his toys. you can try a bit of peanut butter on her kongs and hide and seek games with her with them. i literally had to push toys into my dogs face (gently) over and over again to get him to play with them. i also got some of those treat dispensing puzzle balls and put his dry kibble in them.

please explain to us why it is necessary to keep your dog in the x pen. is the yard not fenced? are you not home with her? it sounds to me like she is getting a little traumatized by the pen, this is not good, you may need to confine her in an emergency, you need to train your dog to be okay in a crate, it just doesn't happen on its own.

if you really need to confine her outside, an x-pen is no where near secure enough, they make outdoor kennels for that, they are expensive, but worth your dog's safety and security.

ideally, if you are home with her, she doesn't need to be confined. if you are home with her, i envy you, i wish i could stya home and play with my dog every day
