Kennel agression

Hi. I'm relatively new to dog ownership and need some advise. Our usually placid 11 month old cocker poo has returned from 2 weeks with a dog "hotel". She has basically been living with a lady who looks after dogs in her own home. She has come back exactly as she was before, loving, happy, obedient etc. however, I gave her a bone earlier and when I tried to take it off her she growled very aggressively like she had never done before. I had previously been able to do this with no problems.

Is this something that is likely to continue or will she eventually return to her old self?

Thanks for any help in advance

Sounds like resource guarding she may have developed being around other dogs in a smaller space she was used to.

I think you should check out this sticky on it, it's very resourceful.

Ignoring the behavior will not cause it to fade away. You'll need to work with her so that she becomes comfortable with you taking what she has in order to get the resource guarding to stop. The sticky link that Kat posted is a great place to start.
