Intro + Questions

Hello everyone! Came across this site for some help, and thought I should join! We have 2 dogs. Pearl, a miniature dachshund. and Havana, what's thought to be a "Chiwawa Beagle Mix", but that was only a guess because the rescue never knew the parents. Pearl is 8, and Havana is 1, and they have a pretty big personality difference.
My question is, Havana has always been scared of new dogs and people, and of any fast movements . Pearl is ok with new people and dogs but can get overwhelmed fairly easily since she's getting a bit older. We thought it would be a good idea to go to a nearby dog park with the both of them (first time for them) and Pearl did good, Havana ran away from all of the dogs that came up to her, and either jumped on the tables or into my lap. She did do a little socializing, but that was kind of it. She did a lot better than I had hoped, and no fights happened. How else and I supposed to get her used to new people and dogs, at a young age ? I'm thinking treats , as she gets pretty exited for treats, I just needed some feedback. Thank you

What cute dogs!

Dog parks can be pretty busy. My dog did not interact a lot, either. He is a year, too.

Sorry, I don't have advice. Just think your dogs are adorable.
