Help!

We have three dogs. One Japanese Akita, one American and a little mutt. The mutt is 7 years old and he listens to all my commands. The Japanese however understands the commands but donít follow. I donít mind because all of them live outside the house. We have an orchard and they act as guard dogs. The only problem I have is with the American Akita. He is 2 years old. He runs away when I bring him food. The other two dogs eat normally when I put out the food but the American shows fearful body language and runs away. Especially when I say ďcomeĒ. I donít know if it has to do with all the dead animals I find in the orchard thatís making him weird. He has also gotten pretty aggressive. I pull him by the collar and bring him to his food bowl and all he does is stare at it. When I walk away he doesnít even touch the food and runs off.

How old is he?

How was he as a puppy?

Where did he come from (ie, breeder, etc)?

He is 2 years old more or less. We didnít get him from a breeder. There was some guy who has a female and decided it was a good idea to make some quick bucks. I wasnít really around when he was a little puppy because I only saw them every 2-3 weekends because I was in the army. I knew it was gonna come back and bite me in the ass metaphorically. I told them the dog needs serious training and they expected me to do it. I didnít have time as I already stated.

Heís very energetic. The day we went to pick him up he wouldnít sit still and would run around everywhere. Very curious wolfer he was and still is. Likes to pick fights with the neighborsí dogs as well. He lost his top left fang biting the fences trying to get to the dog on the other side. The two akitas used to fight fight each other as well when they got provoked by the neighbors dog. The aggression between them stopped after we got rid of their sacks.

I think you maybe seeing the result of dogs that live outside, not with humans. They have formed their 'pack leaders' and own 'rules'.
The avoiding you- is likely a lack of trust based.
Unless you want to bring dog(s) into the social pack living inside the house- or give him work to do WITH you. Nothing will change.

If he's not eating anything for a month he'll lose weight. He could be eating or killing the many dead animals you mention are in your orchard. He could also pick up any number of diseases from them, including rabies, especially if the aggression is new. If he looks sick or thinner I'd get him to a vet.

Itís not that heís skinny and not eating. Cuz I can assure you hes quite big and also very fast. He does eat, just when Iím not around. I just donít like leaving the food out because the birds come over and have a party.
