Unhappy Dog peeing on my bed and other issues

I adopted an adult male dachshund about a year ago. When I adopted him, he was definitely a little fearful of swift movements, but that has gotten a lot better over he past year. Heís never been fully potty trained, but this past week he has peed on my bed every chance heís gotten. He usually gets excited to go outside but suddenly seems nervous to go and when weíre out there he just stands by the door and wonít go, then comes back inside and pees on my bed. He is suddenly skiddish like he was when I got him and has started nervous peeing again. Not sure if this is a coincedence, but also this week he has started snorting almost constantly. I know he has allergies and I give him medicine for that but it doesnít seem to help the snorting.

I live with a guy thatís pretty aggressive and Iím a bit concerned he could have punished him in an aggressive way. Other than that, Iíve got no idea whatís going on, but I really need help getting him to stop. Any suggestions?

It's not uncommon to have these sorts of problems in the winter, particularly if the weather gets nasty. If the dog is not fully housetrained, it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

Can I ask, why isn't the dog housetrained after a year?

Can you crate train him if he isn't already and go back to basics with housetraining? I wouldn't let any pet on my bed if it was peeing on it.
Also maybe a vet appt to rule out physical injury/issues if you're concerned about the aggressive guy you live with?

Is there any way for you to find a safer living situation? You shouldn't have to worry about someone potentially harming your dog, never mind your own potential safety issues. I'm not at all trying to come across as judgmental, just concerned for basic safety.
