clicker for loose leash training?

I've got my dog trained to come running to me as soon as he hears the clicker. I'm wondering if it would be a good tool to use for loose leash training. I could click it every time he tries to pull and then when he hears it he should come back to me.

Will this confuse the loose leash training with the signal for come? should i keep it separate and try a different method for loose leash training?

I mean absolutely NO offense, but you're using the clicker entirely wrong, and if used properly, you could get much better results with your dog, including loose leash walking. The click is supposed to mark the desired behavior as it's happening. Using it as a sound to get your dog to come may have paid off for you in the short-term, but using the clicker wrong won't get you very far elsewhere. Using it correctly can work absolute wonders.

Here are some links to get you started. Also, review the stickied threads here in the training and behavior section, and all over the forum. Lots of good information that will be very helpful to you.

I agree with Megs.
But to your question - yes you can use the clicker for that training, it's just that I would use it in a different way.

Look at the links and the videos posted and if you have any questions, please post!
