I'm not sending this dog back to them! He has been horribly abused. I'm likely going to send him to rescue.

I was addressing your earlier claim of " The "trainer" said there are no refunds and I certainly don't want to send him back to him."

Find yourself an experienced trainer or behaviorist in fearful dogs and start from the very beginning of building a relationship. I’ve heard of PDS and from everywhere I’ve seen they are supposed to be great so I would definitely put your experience out there. I wish you the best of luck with your dog.

If our assumption that it is PDS is correct, I find it phenomenal that they would sell such a bag of nerves and not take the dog back which has bitten the handler 7 times.

This poor dog needs a safe place

This is a terribly sad situation for this dog. He's clearly been abused, and is terrified of abuse continuing. He does need a behaviorist and a safe place. I'd document his behavior, but please, don't do anything to scare him more. Going on tv could help. I'd also suggest a Doberman rescue, and then take the man to court. My heart hurts for this poor dog and I want him to have a better, happy situation where he can just be a happy dog. Is there is a fund set up for that type of future for him, I'd be more than happy to contribute.

[QUOTE=marcie;3582985]I appreciate all the advice. I am honestly willing to let the 15k go if it means this dog doesn't have to go back to the hell he came from. I can't even imagine. The choke and prong collars went in the garbage. I'm going to contact a Doberman Pinscher rescue, as sadly, I don't think I can trust him around my three children. But, I'm willing to give it a shot and try to get a positive trainer and behaviorist involved. The contract I signed didn't say that I couldn't re-home him, but that there are no refunds.

"I am honestly willing to let the 15k go if it means this dog doesn't have to go back to the hell he came from."....I want to hug you for that! And you seem to be doing everything you can to get him food that he likes. This story is one that really touches the heart and I think if you had a facebook page about him and his road to happiness, that you'd get a lot of help and support. I literally want to reach out to him and let him know that things will get better for him and that he can be happy and deserves to be happy. If you can, give him a hug and a kiss from me. <3

As far as I’m aware dog breeding lines must have different names. The von prufenpuden comes from PDS. It doesn’t matter much where it comes from anyway.

A few people suggested sending the dog back. That's appalling, clearly the last place this dog needs to go is back to the hell he came from. That "business" needs to be investigated and hopefully shut down.

Also, is there a photo we can see of this dog? I'd love to see him.
