Today was a really big step for Sawyer. As you know, thanksgiving is coming up soon, but one of my aunts told us that she might not come because she couldn't leave her puppy (the got a german shepherd puppy, but that's a whole different story :eyeroll:) so we needed to see if Sawyer would be ok with dogs, to see if my aunt could bring her dog down. So we employed one of my brothers dog (a pittie) named Skittles. Shes very calm and loves dogs and doesn't get annoyed and snappy at them, so she was the perfect one to dog test Sawyer with. It would also be a test to because although he's meet my brother a few times and has slowly slowly started getting used to him, especially when he first sees him Sawyer gets freaked out. So they came and we had both dogs outside on their leashes, at first Sawyer was barky and pulling towards them and his hair was raised a bit. But I think it was more of What the heck is going on, there are stangers. But once he got to sniff her, the love fest began :eyeroll:. He couldn't care less about any of us and was infatuated with her. Which is not to suprising since when we first got him the only puppies out were to small to play with him and the few dogs he's seen at the vets were grumpy at him or wanted nothing to do with him. I think they played for about a hour and half straight, speeding around in the yard then being maniacs in the house. He even whined outside when he couldn't follow her (I had to keep him on long lead since he's not great with recal yet. But he had a blast, though we was being a bit rude though on occasion, he did try to hump her repedidly. But Skittles was good about it, and it and didn't snap at him, but other then that every thing went well. They even played so much they were both wet from each others slobber :p
I even managed to get some pics, not many though since they wouldn't sit still and most of the other ones a took were all blurred.

It probably was lol, you should have seen how much water they drank.

Speaking of another thing that was good, he didn't even care if they drank out of the same bowl at the same time (we have one of these for water Bowlmates by Petco Medium Double Round Base at PETCO)

Skittles has the sweetest face and she loves to give you pittie kisses lol shes a really good dog

So it turns out sawyer may have a new friend on thanksgiving. My aunt and uncle are bringing there german shpeherd puppie on thanksgiving. (Forwarning this is kind of my little frustrated rant about how they are with their dog) Though I'm a little aprehensive not because I don't think they'll like each other, but the fact that he's for months old and they haven't dog tested him at all and their other dog which is a older dog doesn't want anything to do with their puppie (it seems they really didn't consider her when they got a puppy, which is clearly to much for her). So I have no I idea how he's going to react to sawyer or how is with play. Nor do I really know how my aunt and uncle will handle it if their puppie is being a bit rude or plays to ruff. I meam there going to a trainer who uses a choke collar on him because my uncle doesnt want him to move with out their say so. And even though their puppy keeps havong accidents they refuse to crate train him even when their trainer suggested it. Pluss apperently they only got a german shepherd because my uncles parents breed them. But just beucase you grow up wittyh them doesn't mean that their automaticly a good fit now. And considering they got a puppy doesn't really make sense either, they both work full days (8 hours or so I think) in which the puppy clearly isn't ina crate, their lucky he hasn't gotten into things that could harm him. And their poor older dog (who's also realitivly little) has to put up with puppy antics. Honestly it was up to her if they should have gotten a new dog or if a particular dog would work but it sounds like they by passed her completly. And got there puppy as more of a impulse, besides german shepherds are a lot of work and are very energetic plus you should be really good with spcialization with them more so because they can get a bit protective of their family and home. Honestly this shouldnt be his first dog meeting especialy at 4 months. Anyways ive been a bit frustrated by them but I hope all goes well on Thursday.
