If you take your dog to Emergency Pet Hospital on White Road in Orlando FL....

....I highly recommend a change in offices.

The clinic manager has been caught on video using a leash to slam a small breed dog against the wall several times.

The manager appears to have been fired, however the vet doesn't consider the actions to be abuse:

Quote:
"If you see the video as-is, I'm sure it can be considered animal abuse," said Hassan. "If you see the whole video, you're going to realize what happened there happens everywhere all the time."
If thats what this vet considers to be normal I'm very happy I don't live anywhere close, and I will be making note of both the clinic name and the vet name to ensure that if I'm ever in FL my animals are never treated by her.

WTF???? If you've seen this over and over for months on end why the hell didn't you do anyting????

This is the problem with people nowadays, everyone is so complacent. Why on earth wouldn't you stand up and get that woman fired? Charged with animal abuse???

Too much of an inconvenience I guess....Too much effort!

They should all be ashamed of themselves for just sitting back and not doing anything.

And that monster deserves at least 5 years in jail!!!!

I'm losing all hope in humanity, people are becoming worse and worse.

I don't know why it took so long for the person who had the video to say something, but I can sympathize with the rest of them. Without proof you're screwed. Especially since the head vet doesn't consider it abuse.

In today's society making that sort of accusation without proof is a: opening yourself up to a civil suit, and b: going to make finding your next job really hard cause when your reason for leaving your last job is "I accused the office manager of abuse but didn't have proof so they fired me instead" it doesn't fly well in today's job market.

It doesn't make the lack of reporting RIGHT, but I can understand it.

That is sickening. I can't imagine that anyone in their right mind would bring their pets there after that. And for the vet to say he didn't know sounds like a load of bologna. Sounds like it was common knowledge that it was happening.

Whats worse IMO, is the vet stating that its not abuse and that it happens everywhere! Slamming the dog into the wall because you're frustrated with the animal is NOT an appropriate response and is indeed abuse. And frankly the vet's response tells me that he likely DID know about it, and didn't consider it abuse, and therefor didn't consider it actionable. Which is only one short step from doing it himself.

An ultimate betrayal by people your trust.
Well at least someone finally did come forward. One of the girls in the interview did say she thought no one came forward earlier because they were afraid. She said if that person can do something like that to an animal, then what could she do to a person? This is where nanny-cams come in handy. Its getting to the point that everyone needs to be under surveillance all the time. What is wrong with some people these days. Why one earth would you get a job working in a field that you can't stand? And why do people need to be afraid to expose such things? I feel sorry for the employees who witnessed these actions as well, in a way.
Trying to minimize it (by the vet) is just him covering his own ass. If he thinks that happens all the time and is no big deal, then he needs his head examined. (with a hammer)

It is hard to believe that all employees knew about that manager and the vet somehow had no knowledge of anything, even if he is telling the truth it shows a total lack of control over what is going on at his clinic. It does not matter how you look at it, malicious or negligent, that is not a place where you want to bring your beloved pets.

I am glad she was fired but that is not enough, a prosecution for animal cruelty should follow, there is enough evidence for the state prosecutor to start a case against her.

I think I would have done the same to that if I had seen that happening.

I have a lot of spouses in that area and I'll be happy to pass that along to them!

I understand them being afraid, but you can call in an anonymous tip to the state. Some of the shame is on them too.
