surviving Christmas

WE lost a Therapy dog of 10 years to a sudden death. He wasn't ill but cancer burst his spleen so it was sudden and unexpected. WE have an autistic child and its been hard. WE already hung the stocking. Anyone have any idea how to handle this. Santa will fill all stockings except (our beloved dogs) his stocking. do I fill it? do I not? do I take it down? so conflicted.

I know this has to be an amazingly difficult time for you and your family. Grieving during a time that is supposed to be festive is difficult. My thought would be to maybe fill the stocking with momentos of your dog. There are a lot of plaques and picture frames online that you may be able to get that you can put a picture in or with that will be nice and remind you and the family that the dog is always with you.

Sending my thoughts your way, that is the hardest part of pet ownership.
