Why have veterinarians often missed this?
I have a collie who is MDR1 mutant/mutant and documents to prove this. I have presented this document to every vet she has been to who noted it in her file but over the years, they have missed this fact and prescribed her drugs a dog with the mutant gene should not have or have over prescribed a drug she could have less of.
Shouldn't this be a bold red letter flag at the top of her chart?! I have to remind them of her mutant gene every time I take her in.
Are there any veterinarians or vet techs on this forum who could answer this?
Appreciate your input.
