Hard to tell from the pictures but that almost looks like a engorged tick to me. Have you had a vet take a look at it?

Looks like a tick to me too, if you're uncomfortable taking it off go to the vet asap. They can carry disease and or their venom causes illness to paralysis.

You guys are so helpful ! I just looked up what ticks look like and yeah I'm pretty sure that's it ! I'll get on it!

You should also check the dog very carefully to see if there are any others. Look between his toes, his ears and every skin fold.

Have your vet put him on a monthly flea/tick preventative (we use SimpleGuard 3, but there are a lot of other good products out there). And have him vaccinated for Lyme Disease. You might also read up on the symptoms of tick-borne illnesses, like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
