What is the cause of these open wounds?

Please see attached image of two open wounds on my dog's face.

What is the cause of these open wounds?

What are these open wounds from? Can they be an internal problem?

My dog is a english staffordshire terrier mix thatís 12.5 years old and is an indoor dog, but I let her go out briefly to roam the backyard on her own for five minutes when she goes to the bathroom. My dog got this open wound above her eye yesterday. I assumed she ran into something in the backyard. But today, she got another wound to the left of that initial wound. Iím now thinking the cause is internal. Can anyone shed some clarity on this?

I'd head to the vet, it's very hard to assess these from a picture.

I agree. Take her to a vet. To me it looks like a bite mark but the vet will tell you for certain.
