What can cause diarrhea in puppy?

I have an 11 week old chihuahua mix puppy named Douglas and he's been super active and very playful just full of life but he hasn't been pooping very often and when he does his poop is yellowish brown and not solid. Sometimes it comes out looking hairy and mucusy. He eats performatrin mixed with wet food (same brand) is it possible that worms can be causing his mushy poop or could he be allergic to something?

With puppies there are a lot of reasons their stool can be not great: diet, they ate something, parasites, Giardia, stress etc.

I'd recommend taking a stool sample to your vet to look for any potential parasties and discuss your concerns!

I took him to the vet and she said that because he's had a sudden change in dog food that it can take a while for his tummy to accept it. He's healthy and happy and he just needs time to adjust, I will make sure to keep an eye on his poo thank you 🙂
