Weird sleeping behavior

I’m not really sure if this is a health thing, but I’m a bit worried. I have a 5 year old German Shepherd and Rottweiler mix and he’s been acting really clingy. I am 17 and in the summer I spend a week with my mom then a week with my dad and my dog is at my moms so he usually acts a bit weird at the beginning of the summer because of the schedule change but it’s never been this bad. He started sleeping outside my moms bedroom the last week I was at my dads and then when k was back was sleeping outside my room, he’s not allowed into my room. This is unusual for him but I didn’t think much on it since our other dog just got a crate at night that she loves and I haven’t been spending as much time with him since I started working and couldn’t walk with him since I hurt my ankle. My mom told me today he’s been sleeping outside my room since I went back to my dads and today he went to bed before my mom which is extremely unusual for him. He’s been very clingy with me, he’s always been a Velcro dog but this was worse. He whines when I don’t follow him outside or leave for work or my friends house and follows me around the house even if I am just crossing the room to grab something. He has separation anxiety that has improved significantly over the last few years and seems to be suddenly showing up again. He has no other problems, he’s been eating and has no bathroom issues and hasn’t been lethargic.
I’m sorry this is long and probably not a big deal, I just worry about him like he’s my child and haven’t been able to find any reasons for him to be like this.
