Vets office is closed & I'm very concerned about my puppy.

My puppy is 11 weeks old. Her last set of vaccinations was at 9 weeks. She saw my vet at 10 weeks old and she was in good health.

Recently, she's begun licking her vulva constantly. When I take her for a walk in our yard she'll stop and lick it. Sometimes, mid walk, shell kind of skip and pick up her leg then sit and lick. She also seems to be low energy lately. When I took her potty this evening, she just sat there and didn't want to walk at all. I've checked her little pee pee and its not irritated, red, swollen or inflamed at all. I've been cleaning it with doggy wipes since I can't yet take her to the groomers.

I'm worried since our yard is not fenced in and local wildlife frequent our yard, including deer, she may have picked up something? Could she get parvo? I asked the vet when I took her and he said that taking her in our yard to potty would be ok. I've put her on a leash to take her potty since she would otherwise run around, which she did the first couple of days, hence the leash.

I'm planning on taking her to the vet first thing after I get out of work on Monday afternoon, but I'm very stressed and worried. I'm wondering if I should just take her tomorrow (our vets in our small town are on emergency call only) on the weekends.

Does this sound like something that would warrant a weekend visit to the vet or could it wait till Monday afternoon? Please help. Thank you.

You said your pup's energy level seems lower than normal? Would she play with you if you initiated play?

Does she have an appetite?

Yes, she still is playing and she's eating and drinking. I'm thinking it may be a uti. Does this sound right?

If she is very lethargic and not eating or drinking you MUST get her to the Vet. The licking could be because she has a UTI (urinary tract infection) and needs to be on antibiotics.......if she gets too dehydrated, it is very serious, so make sure you are getting plenty of fluids in her. Entice her to drink by using chicken broth or the water from a can of tuna if you think she is not drinking! Hope your worries are for nothing and is taken care of easily!

Ok, thanks so much! i will take her to the vet for sure on Monday. As of right now I think she's drinking ok, but the chicken broth is a good idea. I think I'll go get her some tomorrow asap. Again, thanks so much!

If you use any type of broth or water from tuna that's store bought make sure it's low sodium. You could also make some simply by boiling chicken in water, that way you know it does not contain any type of additives or something like onions. Boil the chicken in water until the chicken is cooked, let it cool then you can give her the water, refrigerate any you do not use. You can use the chicken as a training treat, or use it in a recipe for you and your family.

Update on my puppy...

Update: I took my puppy to the vet today. Turns out she does have a UTI. He gave her a shot of antibiotics and some medicine to give her over the next several days. I can already see a difference in her this evening. Thank you so much everyone for your help. You helped alleviate my fears because I'm a worrywart to the max. Again, thank you everyone!
