Vet fees for blood in urine

My part pomeranian started showing some blood in her urine today.

Vet did a urine analysis for $85 and an x-ray to check for stones at $185.

The x-ray fee seems very high to me, just wondering what others have experienced

How many views did it cover? I suspect that x-ray fees differ by region/area, like many other vet services. I'm in the DC area and my normal vet charges ~$330 for three views. The emergency vet here is slightly cheaper, at ~$215 for two views.

I do not know how many views but the cost seems ridiculous. My dentist only charges $25 for x-rays.

I am in Vancouver, Canada

Do you have a receipt or invoice from the vet? In my experience they'll usually list on it how many views it covered. For me, $185 seems very high for one view, but if it's for two or three that seems reasonable. Of course, ymmv.

Vet costs are very high, everywhere, though we are, I know, in an especially expensive area for virtually everything. I do carry insurance for our fur baby, which most certainly does help a lot. She has had a number of medical issues the past year, and that insurance has paid for itself several times over, at least.
