Wow, that *is* odd practice, but as long as she's doing well, that's great!
Vets here generally keep meds on hand, at their practice, administer them there during the appt, or if it's to be a course of Rx, give the meds to the owner [pills, shots other than IV, ointment, etc], & they do the daily care at home.
Sometimes the Rx is unusual, the vet doesn't stock it, & the owner takes the scrip to a pharmacy or submits it on-line, & either picks up the meds or they are shipped.
Glad to hear she's not feverish - hope her appetite is good, too.
