Tick and Flea preventative for BC's

Those of you with BC's, especially the medically sensitive ones, what do you use for tick and flea prevention? On the farm I always just dipped them along with the goats. Cipermethtin or Deltamethrin usually. I bathed and dipped them a few weeks ago, but either I mixed it too weak or it's no longer working, because they're still itchy. I gave them nexguard just after we came here, no ill effects, but since heard some horror stories about Nexguard and Bravecto. I suppose every brand does have its "horror stories" but It does scare me. Anybody here use either of those brands? What else can I use? Not a big fan of the spot on type of treatments, long haired dogs tend to become oily on the dip spot.

I was using a Seresto but recently switched to NexGuard. I've been giving both of my dogs Nexguard for 3 months and haven't seen any ill effects.
