Swollen Paw Pad

So we walk Obie everyday for about 1-2 miles. Last Tuesday, he wouldn’t stop licking his left foot. We looked and it was red. It looked like he scraped it. It wasn’t bleeding or swollen. Now, a week later, it is swollen and still red. It doesn’t have any drainage or an odor. I put antibiotic cream on it and we’ve tried to keep him from licking it. Any ideas on what it could be? Should we take him to the vet?

If it's a week later and still red you should get him seen by a vet. It could be an abscess or infected cut or cellulitis depending on his age. He could have a bug bite or small piece of glass or any number of things wrong.
He could just be licking it. But still red and now swollen a week later means there's something wrong. You don't want a small infection to turn serious.
He may need a cond to let it heal. Dogs can be obsessive about licking their paws especially if they're in pain.
