Everyone at the salon I work at uses them for their pets (myself included). And it was actually only a few days ago that we've had our first negative reaction. One of my co-workers had to take it off her cat because it was burning her neck and she was acting lethargic. However that's one reaction out of 12 dogs and 4 cats that have all used them in the salon. So it looks like the reaction tends to be severe. But is very rare.

I wonder how quickly these negative reactions occur. I'm waiting until Wednesday evening to put the collars on because I have off work Thursday and Friday so I can closely monitor them..

It took two days for me to really notice the physical symptoms of the reaction with my dog. His behavior started becoming erratic a few hours after putting it on, but I did not attribute it to the collar until the physical symptoms progressed.

Thanks for the response, I'll keep that in mind. I really hope they are fine with it. I'll feel awful if I cause them any stress.

Immediate allergies typically appear within 1 to 3 hrs and delayed reactions should start at 24 to 48 hours although it might take longer to notice if it starts mild.

I will ask my co-worker the next time I see her how long it took for her to notice.

When I first put it on Bandit I checked the area underneath for irritation every few hours for the first few days he had it on. Now I still check once a day but that's more habit then anything else. I check it while I feed him dinner since if I just let him have the chicken leg he immediately tries to take it somewhere carpeted to eat so while I'm holding his dinner in one hand I check under his Seresto and his ears too while I'm there.

Well I put the collars on today, just a couple hours ago. No irritations yet, though they're curled up in bed napping. If the collars do work out, how much do you think it would effect flea/tick prevention if I take them off while sleeping and put them back on in the AM?
