Senior Lab can't stand on hind legs

Hello,
My Aunt passed away last week, and she had an older black lab, probably around 13 or so. My Aunt was in failing heath for a few years and mostly alone, and the poor pup wasn't well taken care of. She's overweight and has a large growth on her hind leg, right where it meets her tummy. Anyway, after my Aunt passed, I brought her home with me. I had her home for a few days, and even though she was slow to get up, she was just fine. About two days ago, she lost all ability to stand on her hind legs. She can still move them and reacts to me touching them, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm not sure what happened, I just noticed she couldn't stand up. She drags her self around now. I was not planning on keeping her, as my daughter has pet allergies, but I didn't want her to end up in a shelter in Alabama, either, so I brought her back to Florida with me to see if I could find a home for her. I don't have a lot of money for a vet, and I'm not sure what to do from here.

Thank you for any help!

First, thank you for caring about the old girl enough to take her with you and try to help her! Not many would do that, especially given she's a senior dog with at least 1 obvious health problem.

Sadly, she needs to be seen by a vet, only a vet could tell you what that lump may be and if it's the cause of her inability to walk. It may be something that could be relatively easily treated, or it might not be. Only a vet would be able to know for sure.

Until you can get her to the vet you can help her to move about by using a towel as a sling, loop it under her belly, with an end on either side of her, then use the ends to lift her rear end so that she can stand. Here's a video that shows what I mean
