I have a 10 week old GSP. His belly stays a pinkish red color like it's irritated. Is there anything I can use on it. Medicated shampoo etc?

Have you tried checking on it at the vet?

If the skin is irritated, your puppy is most likely scratching & biting at the area. When my beagle had this problem, we determined it was allergy related. First you should rule out if your puppy has a skin condition, if it's a food allergy, or it's something related to the shampoo you're using. I've always used oatmeal shampoos on my dogs. There are medicated shampoos you can get as well. Avoid heavy fragrances. Also ask your vet about a no grain diet for your puppy. My dog now is on Blue Basics no grain turkey & potato. If you do switch foods, make sure you gradually introduce the new food by mixing it with the old, eventually weaning off the old food altogether. This will help prevent any allergic reaction your puppy may have. One question: Is your puppy on any medication? If so, you should rule out any possible reaction to medication as well. If the allergy is really bothersome to your puppy & all else fails, your vet may very well recommend a medication to help relieve the redness & itching. I hope this helps. Good luck!

It could be an allergy, biting insects, or even poison ivy. You need to take him to the vet to have it checked out, and a course of treatment prescribed.
