Reaction to Vectra 3d

Our 5 month old Shih-Tzu was healthy and happy until she had a reaction to Vectra 3d. She is now crying and whimpering, will not walk, sits like her bottoms is painful and is highly agitated. She has been given several baths but unfortunately she was not given a dawn bath for a few days. We are now on day six after many visits to the vet and only two nights with us. She is getting better, but very slowly. Does anyone know if this is permanent or over time she will get better? Any advice what so ever would be appreciated

I’m sorry to hear about that! Not sure how long the reaction will last. I stopped giving a Vectra and all other topicals when I applied it to my dog one day and then he laid down on my wood floor and some got on the wood and stripped a layer of the varnish off the wood. I figured if it did that to the floor I didn’t want to put that on my pets. I’ve had good results with the oral flea products, Nexgard and Simprica. Hope your baby feels better soon!

Our 7 or old 75 lbs lab/shep, Shiloh, had a terrible reaction to a Vectra tick collar. She was unresponsive and looked poisoned. I removed the collar and she perked up after a few hours. I immediately contacted our vet who gave us the contact information for the cCo that manufactures this. Not only did I get a refund, but I was asked many questions re: Shiloh's health, breed, etc. Leads me to think they were "unleashing" a product with tons of chemicals as an experiment. Wherever I see this stuff promoted, I make a point of telling the cashier to advise people that side effects are possible.
