Puppy Car Sick

I adopted a beagle/hound mix puppy when he was 14 weeks. He is now 19 weeks and is great. The hardest part for him is car trips. No matter if half a mile to vet or 6 miles to obedience class he gets car sick. I've tried putting him in all the different seats, and in or out of crate. Ive tried not feeding him before traveling. I feel bad for him that this happens, and want to help him do better in the car so he can go places ( daycare, parks, family). Has anyone had a dog that grew out of it? Any advice for helping him get use to car?

We adopted ours when she was about a year old. She hated cars, didn't want to get in, got sick, sometimes even before I could get out of the garage. With our Vets help, we gave her some Dramamine before trips, which helped. I have to tell you it took over three years of taking her for car rides that gradually got longer and longer. Now eight years later, she rarely gets car sick, and sometimes even shows some enthusiasm about getting into the car. When we got her, it was with the intent that she would travel with us in our motor home, so it was really a problem. Interestingly, she never ever got sick in the motor home, though she would on the way to it, or from storage to home in the car.
