I don't think that mange would affect your dog that quickly. It would also be very strange for it to first appear on her back, usually the mites are found where the hair is sparse, you'd most likely first notice hair loss around her eyes and ears. I'd say a more likely culprit would be fleas if the dog you found had any. Your dog may be allergic to them in which case it would only take 1 flea bite to set off a reaction.

Are you sure that the dog you found had mange? If you are then I'd call your vet in the morning and explain what happened. They'll be able to advise you about what preventative measures you can take to keep your dog safe.

Is your dog on a monthly flea treatment? If so, it's likely that she's had a few bites and isn't infested.

Rather than getting something from the grocery store, I would advise you to get a topical flea treatment from a pet supply store, such as Zodiac spray, and give her a thorough going-over with it.

You also need to wash your dog's bedding, and thoroughly vacuum your house. Pay particular attention to vacuuming the baseboards.

thank you i went to a pet store and he told me she could be allergic to grain so i got her some new pet food grain free and some shampoo that will ease itching ill keep you updated on how she gets on she looks better today than what she did last night thank you for all advice given and also the man said to take it 1 step at a time if the food doesnt help her then put flea treatment on and rule out each possibility 1 step at a time rather than all together and not know what the cause is
