Old bumps/welts, now black spots (scars?) on Bumper's back

Hey everyone, I'm new here and just thought I'd get some input on something going on with my boy Bumper. He's a 1.5yr old pit mix and is in great overall condition/health. About a month or two ago i noticed some red bumps or welts on his back. It was only a few and they didnt seem to bother him at all, no scratching or itching, and they weren't painful since he didn't react to me poking them. I chalked it up to bug bites (possibly ants) and pretty much let him be. The raised bumps went away after a bit and left behind what looks like black spots/scars. He's been consistantlt adding more bumps

Sorry, posted this before i finished writing it.
Anyway, he's been slowly adding more bumps and then scars over the last few weeks. Its slowed down and basically stopped now, but it looks pretty spread. I was just looking for some input on what it coul be before i take him to the vet. Bug bites, allergies, his shampoo maybe? I ready that vigorous drying after a bath could cause something like this and ive been bathing him in warm water then drying him maybe too thoroughly with a towel. I attatched some pics too. Appreciate your help guys!

Hi there!

As per Rule 14 it would not be appropriate for us to recommend any medical advice as we aren't vets and haven't seen your dog in person.

Please consider taking your dog to your vet.

Hope your pup feels better, and keep us updated!
