He started humping his bed and then peed on it which he has never done before. He also dribbled elsewhere in the house and seems to be peeing more than usual. He keeps licking his genitals and seems to be crying more when he does. He also seems to have more pain when touched or petted on his stomach. He did eat and drink normally.
I called his vet, and they said it could be explained by the rabies vaccination and his right rear side. After I got off the phone with the vet he ended up throwing up the food he had eaten about half hour to an hour prior. About ten minutes after this he pooped in the house, and the stool was normal. I can't call the vet back because they closed shortly after I spoke to them. Should I be concerned that something else is wrong or is this common for rabies vaccinations? He keeps crying and can't seem to get comfortable or sleep.
I have had dogs all my life and never had any issue with what you described, until I got my Morkie. He's just finished up with all his puppy shots. After the first and last series of shots, he was fine for the first hour or so after I got him home and then he was sore if I tried to pick him up at all. That lasted about 5 hours. The vet said sometimes the needle goes in a bit far for smaller dogs (mine is 3 pounds) and it makes them sore. He's perfectly fine now. We didn't have any humping or vomiting though. Hope your baby is fine too.
