Question neutering with mdr1

i have a 1yr old male mini aussie. He has had the genetic test done and results came back mutant/mutant for mdr1. i would like to know is it safe for him to be neutered. He is an inside dog only outside for potty breaks and walks. My female is spayed. He is not aggressive or does not show dominance. just not sure if i should or not because of mdr1.

I don't really see how MDR1 would be a problem with neutering. I know the gene does run in my Aussie's line but never had him tested (not worth it, I just avoid the drugs that cause problems). Really the only adjustment I have to make with him is no Heartworm treatment with ivermectin in it.

If you're worried though speak with your vet.
