Neutered Dog Bleeding?

I have a 2 1/2 year old husky who got neutered about 4 months ago. I adopted him 2 months ago and have noticed since I have had him that his sack is still bleeding a little bit. I have taken him to the vet and they just gave me antibiotics. Why would he still be bleeding and how do I fix it?

The antibiotics will be to prevent infection. More than likely a bit didnt fully heal, & your dog could be knocking the scab off before it should come off by scratching, licking, causing it to open & bleed again. You can apply aloe vera & tell your dog 'stop -no licking, that's enough- kinda thing when you see him doing it. If he doesnt learn, you may have to use a cone for awhile especially when you're out, to give it a chance to fully heal. It's a very sensitive area, so he is probably very aware of any irritation down there. Dont cover it as it needs to be aired & make sure it stays dry. The aloe is good like that because it forms an extra layer like skin & if the dog licks it, it keeps working from the inside out. Just re-apply if its licked straight off. If you use the plant, scrape out the pulp & keep the juice, blend it in a blender - adding vit c will work as a natural preservative & store it in an air tight bottle in the fridge.
