Try steam for pet's breathing issues
My mom's cat has similar issues from what it sounds like from your post.
The vet recommended a nebulizer with meds, but it was really pricey. And bothersome for her cat. Although Mom did try this for a bit.
Then someone who works at a major vet clinic in town told us to use a vaporizer with steam (about $15 at Walmart)--but do NOT use any meds like Vicks with the machine. You put the pet in the room with the vaporizer for (I think) 20-30 minutes. I think. Can't recall all the details for sure now.
Or better yet, she said to take the cat (or dog) in the bathroom with you as you take a steamy shower. (Do not put pet in the shower!)
The steam should help clear the passages, and help your pet breathe better. Do not use any meds or essential oils with pet in there.
Also, if you are using fragrances (room sprays, plug ins, candles, etc) or essential oils in your home, these may possibly irritate your dog's breathing issues.
Perhaps ask your vet if these methods will help your dog?
