I am confused too. He didn't tell us exactly what he did. All he said was he did a treatment. I could go look at the invoice though..if I can find it...Or just wait till my mom gets home and see if she can get it for me so I can tell you what it says on there.

Doctor thinks it's probably cancer but is unsure. That is why he wanted the biopsy.

Well, like I said, if he thinks he saw 1 large tumor (which he can't really be sure of on x-rays) then a biopsy may not be necessary because it just has to come out (because she's doing so poorly). If the liver was just large and he's thinking cancer, then I see his rationale.

Depending on what he's thinking, they may be able to take tiny samples with a needle during an ultrasound. That being said, these samples are not diagnostic for all types of liver issues. The best biopsy is a surgical biopsy where she is totally opened up-- but then obviously you have all of the risks associated with an abdominal surgery.

You're in a tough spot. Been there, I know.

Yeah. It's very tough.

What the doctor said was because her liver enzymes were so highly elevated and they didn't much improve while she was there that is why he thinks it may be cancer. He didn't say he saw anything in the x-ray.

I woke up to my dog throwing up. She is throwing up bile. She's thrown up twice this morning and it's only 11am. She won't eat anything anymore.

I am sorry Amy.
It sounds like she is indeed very sick...

Hope you are preparing your heart for what is likely to come relatively soon.

Make her as comfortable as you can.
Enjoy your moments together. Let her know she is loved!

This is a very tough time.
I've been through this recently too... twice lately in fact...

Hugs...

Ugh, I'm sorry. Take away the food and water again as before. Hopefully you are taking her to the vet tomorrow again.

Good Luck.

Brandi was put to sleep this morning. She was suffering too much and the vet said he didn't want to put her through anymore treatment because it wouldn't do much help and would just make her comfortable not fix her. He thought it was best that we put her down as well. It was so hard. I've been crying off and on all day. She was our protector. She kept me company on days when I was home alone. She meant so much to me. It's so hard to write this.

I just hope she is at peace now and know that she was loved so much. Maybe she is with our other dog (her best friend) now. I hope she is happy at the rainbow bridge now. I know she will be waiting for me. I am going to miss her so so much. I can't believe she is gone. I don't want to believe it. But I know she was suffering and I know how sick she was. Just so difficult.

Thanks everyone.

I was hoping for an update all day, but I'm sorry to see this is the update.

She was definitely in a tough spot and you did what you could for her. **hugs**

Yeah. I was hoping not to post that update today either but she was just so sick.
We made her comfortable last night. We took her to the e-vet and they gave her nausea medication so she felt better through the night but when we got to our vet the news wasn't as we'd hoped.
