My dog has hair loss and scabbing on his neck

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew what this could be? It started out as a clump of hardened fur then the hair fell out and this appeared!

Is he scratching this area? Possibly flea bites? Or a reaction to flea meds? When I would put topical Advantage flea meds on my dogs, sometimes they would lose hair on the back of their shoulders.

Hmmm not sure of any thing else?

Maybe run by your vet and ask them?

Agree with the above and will add that a couple of our dogs would regularly get "hot spots". They were scab-like sores that developed generally on the neck or face and generally took a few weeks to go away.
