My dog is allergic to fleas need help.

I cant afford the vet till i get paid next week. He has been scratching himself to the point that he has little to none hair around the tail area. Ive been treating for fleas and put a cone on him. But today i left the house for a bit and he some how managed to get the cone off and itched him self raw. What should i do till i can get him to a vet. I have also tried to apply for credit care and got declined so that is not an option for me.

Are you using Frontline now? And still have fleas? Back when we used chemicals, (Frontline in particular) it itself caused all the symptoms you are describing on one of ours, and another still had fleas. We washed the topical off, started spraying wondercide and soon all itching and irritated skin went away. Chemicals can cause all sort of problems, worse than the fleas themselves.

I would wash it off if it's causing that many problems. If it's fleas, clearly the Frontline isn't working anyway, and if there are no fleas then it's from the chemicals in the Frontline. When you are giving the bath, just don't scrub the sores. Be easy on them.

Our dog is the same way with a flea allergy. Nothing helped and I mean nothing. We finally bought a Seresto collar and it has made all the difference. You can get them for about $40 on chewy.com. She actually is not miserable anymore, and they are supposed to last 8 months.

When I ran out of Frontline I used apple cider vinegar mixed with a little water. You can spray the dog, the furniture the floors pretty much anything. The smell goes away pretty quick. I have used this only as a temporary solution until I pick up the Frontline. I would also make sure to vacuum every morning and evening until you get it under control. And empty the vacuum bag outside away from your house every time you vacuum. It has worked for me before but each area and animal is different. Good Luck.
